BLUFF BASKETBALL

About us

Our story

Purpose:

The Bluff Basketball program is designed to help your child learn and expand on the fundamentals of basketball to help develop our future bulldogs into creating a premier basketball school. Without the necessary understanding and awareness of the game at an early age, teams tend to fall short of success to their counterparts who play and participate in a summer program. The Bluff Basketball is the stepping stone to help your child, and those who they will later play on Varsity and Junior Varsity with your child develop the skills to succeed in the future. With this being said, we are asking for all children interested in basketball currently enrolled in 2nd through 7th grade to start their journey to success with The Bluff Basketball.

Introduction:

The Bluff Basketball is a program created by John Rowland, Nathan Rowland, and Matthew Rowland. Their time spent at Harts Bluff has run for nearly 20 years and continues to be a blessing to our family as we have seen the school and the love for the game grow.

John Rowland will be the coach of the Boys Senior Division (Current 6th & 7th Graders) and oversee the entire program. He has been involved in Harts Bluff Little Dribblers for 14 years, coached 12 different little dribbler all-star teams, has been involved in Harts Bluff Booster Club, and is the Spring League coach for your Harts Bluff Varsity Team.

Nathan Rowland will be coaching the Boys Major Division (Currently 4th & 5th Graders), was a Harts Bluff Bulldog from 2005 until 2015, has been a part of Harts Bluff little dribblers for over 9 years collectively as coach and player, played on 3 little dribbler all-star teams, and played basketball at Chapel Hill High School.

Matthew Rowland will be coaching the Boys Junior Division(Currently 2nd & 3rd Graders), is currently a starting forward for your Harts Bluff Bulldog Basketball Team, played on 4 little dribbler all-star teams, a Junior entering into his Senior year of high school, and planning to purse college basketball following his graduation.

Expectations & Curriculum:

With the development of each child and their ability in mind, The Bluff Basketball will follow the following curriculum created by The Rowlands and vetted by coaches at HBISD. We hope that as your child continues to grow, they will learn to enjoy the progression of the game and start to understand things at a faster pace. This program is in place to suit those with no prior knowledge as well as those who have attended the program in the past.
